Principal

Laurie Berke joined TABB Group in May 2006, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in the equity and derivatives trading and technology arena.  As a Principal, her primary focus is on advisory and consulting work but her talents extend to authoring such TABB reports as Institutional Equity Trading 2008 and 2007, as well as on topics that include algorithmic trading in the FX markets.

Prior to joining TABB, she was a director at ITG Inc., where she spent 10 years in global execution services product management.  She was responsible for the desktop product QuantEX, the early development of the EMS Triton, ITG’s first

algorithmic servers, the launch of ITG Canada’s trading systems, the global portfolio trading system, and led the product management team in the globalization of ITG’s trading suite.

She moved to ITG after spending five years at Merrill Lynch as a senior vice president responsible for the launch of its portfolio trading and derivatives business in the early 1990s. 

She spent a brief tenure for one year as head of sales for AZX Inc., a single-price equity call-auction market known as the Arizona Stock Exchange.  From 1985 to 1990, she led the equity sales/trading team for Kidder Peabody’s portfolio trading and financial futures division. 

She began her career in 1979 as an options sales/trader at Paine Webber Inc. where she later launched the stock index arbitrage-trading desk in 1983.
