Andy Nybo
Principal, Head of Derivatives Research

Named a principal and appointed head of derivatives in March 2009, Andy Nybo has more than 20 years of experience in research and technology applications in the global capital markets.  He joined TABB in August 2006 as a senior analyst and has focused his research efforts on OTC and listed-equity derivatives markets, examining how technology is playing an increasingly integral role on both buy-side and sell-side desktops.  He was promoted to principal in March 2009 and appointed head of derivatives in 2011.

 

As lead consultant for derivatives-related assignments, he counsels clients on the use of technology on derivatives trading desks, managing assignments examining adoption of electronic trading front-ends for derivatives, smart-order routing technology, derivatives market structure and market-data platforms. He has written a number of studies examining the evolving derivatives markets with a particular focus on technology, market structure and how the buy side and sell side are adapting to the changing environment.

 


Prior to TABB, he was head of marketing and communications at MarketAxess Corporation, responsible for external communication efforts and directly involved in managing the investor relation efforts for MarketAxess during its IPO in November 2004.  Prior to MarketAxess, he was a senior analyst with TowerGroup, where he authored numerous reports on the impact of technology on the capital markets with specific focuses on front-end trading systems in the fixed income and equity markets. He also provided strategic consulting on the impact of electronic trading in the securities markets.  Prior to TowerGroup, he was vice president, director of research at The Bond Market Association, now SIFMA, responsible for all aspects of their fixed income market research activities. He earned a BS in economics at SUNY Albany.
