ASEAN Equity Markets 2009

Executive Summary
In a new Pinpoint report, TABB Group provides an industry update on equity trading in the ASEAN region.  The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) includes Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos and

Brunei.  As of February 2009, five of the six ASEAN members have agreed to create an electronic linkage between their respective exchanges.  The report focuses on the global demand for that linkage, differing needs of the buy side and sell side and discusses critical success factors for ASEAN equity market growth.  TABB Group collected data through interviews with heads of electronic trading from 12 top global broker-dealers, 9 hedge funds and 14 institutional asset managers.
