Matt Johnson serves as Product & Distribution Strategist, Marketing at American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company®. He joined the organization in June 2021 and is based in Minnesota. He's responsible for developing product and distribution go-to-market strategy.

Matt brings over 20 years of diverse product and distribution experience in both the insurance and asset management business. Before joining American Equity, Matt was a registered representative in the field, did product training, managed a hybrid broker-dealer/RIA product shelf, and most recently was in IMO distribution for a global insurance carrier.

Matt stays busy with his wife and two very active kids attending soccer meets, baseball and basketball games, gymnastics, swim meets, or ninja course competitions. Between all those activities, he enjoys sneaking out on the boat on one of Minnesota's many lakes.
